These healthy homemade cheez its are super easy to make, with only 3 ingredients! My kids LOVE when I make a batch (or two) of these yummy cheese crackers. Can be made gluten-free and keto too!

Yields 12 servings
Cheez-Its
- 8 oz cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 4 tablespoons butter (cold)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

CHEEZ-ITS
- 2
Combine the shredded cheddar, cold butter, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder in a food processor (or large bowl if no processor).
- 3
Add the flour and pulse until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- 4
Add 2 tablespoons of water and pulse (or mix by hand) until the mixture comes together as a dough. Add the remaining tablespoon of water only if the dough is too dry.
- 5
Divide the dough into thirds, shape into discs or logs, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
- 6
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick, then cut into small squares with a pizza cutter or knife. Optionally, prick the centers with a toothpick for the classic Cheez-It look.
- 8
Transfer the squares to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a Silpat mat.
- 9
Bake for 15-17 minutes, until light to medium golden brown.
- 10
Let cool on a wire rack — the crackers will crisp up as they cool.
