Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for sour coating)
- 1 tablespoon citric acid (for sour coating)
- 4 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice
- 3 tablespoons pectin
- 5 tablespoons granulated sugar (for candy base)
- 1 tablespoon unflavored vegan gelatin
- Fresh fruit juice of your choice

Bloom the unflavored vegan gelatin by combining it with 2 tablespoons of water; let sit for 5 minutes.

In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine fresh fruit juice and 5 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Stir until simmering.
